Week 8: Mixed Bag for Sharon Teams in Final Regular Season Games
The Sharon B's and D's finished strong in their last games of the regular season, as the C's and Mites stumbled. The Sharon B Eagles shutout the Canton Bulldogs, 22-0 at the Sharon Middle School to finish the season 7-1. The Sharon D team ran over Canton in the afternoon game, 13-6. After starting the season 1-3, the Sharon D's won their final four games to finish 5-3 and make the playoffs. Canton crushed the C's, 27-6, leaving the C Eagles with an even 4-4 record for the season. The Sharon Mites dropped their last game, 13-7 in a very tough battle against the Canton Mites to finish 5-3. The Sharon A's gained a victory by forfeit (Melrose). Week 7: Rain + Wind + Cold = 3 Big Wins for Sharon
In the most miserable October weather imaginable, the kids from Sharon showed their true mettle, beating Milton in three of the four games at Milton High School. The Sharon Mites continued to prove that football can be fun and successful, shutting out the Milton Mites, 20-0. The Eagle A's also overmatched and shutdown their opponent, 26-0 (the weather was so miserable that afterward, it was hard to tell who had won since the kids from both teams were happy just to get off the field!). In the last game of the day, the Sharon D team continued their run to the playoffs with an impressive 26-6 victory. Unfortunately, the Milton C's overpowered the Sharon squad, 34-6. Sharon's final games of the regular season take place at home next Sunday against Canton (the A's play at Melrose).

Week 6: It's a Sharon Sweep over Parkway (plus a win over Canton B)!
It's always a good sign for your town program when all the teams come away with a victory. With Sharon A, C, D and Mites beating Parkway at the Sharon Middle School, and the C squad rolling over Canton, it was a great weekend for Sharon Pop Warner. First, the Mites won a squeaker over Parkway, 14-12 (gotta make those extra points!). The Sharon A's won 27-6. The C's also easiluy beat their opponents, 25-6. In the last game of the day, the D's evened their record with a decisive 27-6 win. In the next town over, the Sharon B's handled Canton, 22-8. Next up, away at Milton for most, with the B's playing at Dedham.

Week 5: Sharon Rolls over Mansfield (Mostly)
It was a tremendous run of victories in Mansfield as all the Sharon teams, except the Mites, beat their opponents today. First, the Sharon Mites suffered a heartbreaking loss to Mansfield, 7-6. The rest of the day went much better. Sharon A (26-8), Sharon B (25-14), Sharon C (25-6) and Sharon D (13-0) each won convincingly over their hosts. Next Sunday, the Mites, A's, C's and D's face Parkway at the Sharon Middle School, while the B's head to Canton.

Week 4: Sharon Mites Win, Everyone Else Falls to North Attleboro
Congratulations to Coach Allan Stern and his Mighty Mites as the rest of the five Sharon Pop Warner teams got beaten in North Attleboro this past weekend. The Mites led off the day with a 19-12 victory over one of the two N. Attleboro Mites teams. Both the Sharon A's and B's lost their first games of the season, with the A's dropping a high-scoring battle, 39-24, and the B's losing a nail-biter, 14-6. The N. Attleboro Stars (C1) shutout the Sharon C's, 20-0, and the Jets (D1) stuck it to the Sharon D team, 28-0. On to Week 5 against Mansfield.

It's 5-for-5 against Dedham!
Congratulations to all five Sharon Pop Warner teams for a clean sweep of Dedham this week! After the D's (12-6) and A's (13-6) took care of business on Monday with exciting second-half victories, the Sharon B and C teams crushed their opponents at Dedham Memorial Park on Tuesday, 30-0 and 19-6 respectively. Then, on Wednesday, the Mites finished the clean sweep with a 20-6 victory. Next up for all teams: away games (white jerseys) against North Attleboro on Saturday, 9/24. All games except Mites are at Community Field. The Mites play at Roses Field, across the street (same directions). All scores are recorded on the SCHEDULE page.

Mites Run, Pass to Win in Dedham, 20-7
The Sharon Mighty Mites knew that if they could match the energy the cheer squad brought to the game, they’d win: and that they did. MVP Austin Dodes ran for two touchdowns and threw for a third as the Mites crushed Dedham 20-7. Dodes ran one forty five yard bootleg breaking 7 tackles right before the end zone. Proving their play making diversity in the third quarter, Dodes connected with Jason Cohen for a twenty five yard pass and then immediately followed by a 32 yard pass to Kevin Li for the touchdown. Both receivers were awarded the game ball. Will Stern added 40 yards on four runs at QB and Tailback with both of the team’s extra points to cap the scoring. On the defense, Drew Naisuler, Max Brody Coleman Loftus, Aaron Strong, Aidan Fahy and Max Callan stopped Dedham in their tracks. On the opening kickoff, Naisuler nailed the kickoff returner before he could move an inch. Dedham had almost no productive offense until the last play of the game when a quarterback sneak led to a 60 yard run. The cheer squad's half time show was great and worthy of the applause the players and parents gave them at the game’s conclusion.

Eagles Top Dedham in Back-to-Back Thrillers
It was a night of slow starts and Eagle victories as the Sharon D's and A's both pulled out second-half wins in Dedham. The D squad played their opponents evenly through the first half, with each team scoring a touchdown and failing on the conversions. With less than a minute to go in regulation, a Sharon interception and subsequent 15 yard penalty on Dedham gave the Maroon-and-Gold the ball in great field position. On 4th and 6, the Eagle D's passed deep for the game-winning TD, 12-6. Sharon's A team, down 6-0 at half time, dug down deep, shut out Dedham in the second half to win thier game, 13-6. The A team, with many players remaining from their State Championship ride last fall, are now 3-0. All scores are recorded on the SCHEDULE page.

Sharon Strong on the Road against Medway
The Sharon C's bounced back from a tough first week to roll over the Medway C's, 31-6. Both the A's and B's continued their winning ways with strong, defensive victories, winning 14-7 and 15-0, respectively. The Sharon D team got off to a slow start against a strong Medway squad, but came back late with two touchdowns before falling 19-13. The Sharon Mites played a tremendous game on both sides of the ball, but lost to Medway in the early morning contest, 13-7. All scores are recorded on the SCHEDULE page.

2008 Sharon B Team Honored at SHS Halftime
The 2008 State Champion Sharon Pop Warner B Team took the Sharon High School field in recognition of their tremendous 12-0 season. Congratulations to Head Coach Bob Shuman, SPW President Cary Nevins and all the coaches, managers and players who made last year's championship run so special. And, for good measure, the '08 champs served as a good luck charm as the Sharon Eagles varsity football team crushed Randolph, 48-13 for their first field victory in three seasons. The future of Coach Chamberlain's high school program is bright!

Three Up and Two Down Against Braintree
The Sharon Pop Warner season has begun and the kids all did a fine job against Braintree this Labor Day at the Sharon Middle School field. The Mites started the day with a 19-12 win, followed by victories by the A's (20-12) and the B's (18-10). Eagles lost steam as the holiday wore on, however, as both the C and D squads dropped their games against Braintree, losing 12-6 and 18-6 respectively. Next up, Medway on Sunday 9/13 (all games at the Medway Middle School). All scores will be recorded on the SCHEDULE page.

Welcome Back! Important Dates to Note
Even though there are still some stragglers finishing up summer camp, Sharon Pop Warner has officially begun! So mold those mouthpieces, players. It's time to hit the fields! Here are some important dates to know:

Wednesday, August 12 – ROSTER PICTURES – A photographer will be coming to each field to take roster pictures. The game shirts will be given out prior (Steve, I know we said Monday but the more I think of it we should give out same day as pictures so people don’t forget them). For any missing players, it will be the responsibility of the TM to take roster pictures (head shot with clear game jersey number visible – waist up) and get in the book before certificate, 8/25. I would like books back by 8/22 for a final review.

Tuesday, August 25 – RELIGIOUS WEIGH-IN – To be held during certification at the Holiday Inn in Taunton – players should be there by 5:45 with game jersey on.*

Saturday, August 29 – MANDATORY WEIGH-IN – Brockton High School at 8AM. All players must wear game jerseys, shorts and sneakers (no pads, helmets, cleats, etc.). Anyone who misses the mandatory weigh-in will also miss the first game on September 7 and must attend the 2nd weigh-in, Saturday, September 12.
